Default Anyone use virtual tours?

Does anyone use virtual tours? What are your thoughts on them and do you think that they are worth trying? Do you know any companies that offer this service in Spain and how much does it cost?

I would like to give it a go but would like to hear from anyone that is actively using them and if they benefit them in any way?

I´ve looked at virtual tours both here and in the UK and to be honest they are not worth the bother or the expense.

While they are a good additional feature in some cases (especially for the pricier properties) the cost is usually prohibitive and trying to get a vendor to pay up for this sort of thing is pretty much impossible.

We looked at one here in Spain in the last year and they were charging around €100.00 per property, which is cheap compared to others, but we had to have a minimum which to be honest made me me feel that it wasn´t money well spent. I would rather use that cash for other forms of advertising.

One other thing, don´t try and do it yourself either, it looks aweful unless you know what you are doing and beside that your database may not be able to take virtual tours which means you have to use an external source for storing.

Colin, do you have the company that offered the service? I too am interested in being able to offer this to clients that have had properties on the market for a while, giving them a different form of advertising to see if we can shift their property.

Not only does it benefit them but us as well.

Would like to know more and see a demo.

I am thinking about starting a service for estate agents and other businesses in Spain, creating virtual tours, but have no idea what kind of demand for such a service may exist. Judging by the lack of replies on this thread, maybe not much? As a guide, I anticipate that a one-off tour, to include up to 10 separate views of a property and possibly floor plans as well, would cost €300, and any repeat business would be €180 per tour.
I understand why some agents may be reluctant to spend extra money promoting an individual property, but for higher end properties, and rental properties in particular I think it is a great way to add a touch of class to your website presentation for a relatively small outlay, and without having to get involved in extra equipment / software.
Any thoughts and comments from the professionals here would be gratefully received!

I am a real estate broker in the US and in Mexico along the border. I use property videos of 5 to 10 minutes in duration for my properties, especially remote properties as I deal a lot in ranches and remote land. This has many benefits. First they are visible from anywhere in the world on the Internet and also I can mail them (and have) in a DVD format to those who don't have Internet. This saves me a lot of time from showing properties that someone with enough information can decide they are not interested after all. Some of my listings are very visually impressive and the video helps to entice potential buyers as well.

With the use of Google Earth flyovers, it is also a very effective way to locate where the property is.

You can see examples of movies for some of my properties on my website at Sin Fronteras Realty - Realty Without Borders

Although I am a real estate broker, I have a few other professions, including, but not limited to, web design and mutli media production. I capture the content, perform any graphics work, write the script, edit the video, add music soundtracks and even do the narration work all myself. My production company is NetShaman Productions

Another benefit is that I have created a YOUTUBE channel where I make my property videos available and have obtained incremental eyeballs in this manner.

See: YouTube - sinfronterasrealty's Channel

I also produce similar videos for other brokers and prices are based upon the individual project.
