Default Top of the Google Heap?

You win some you lose some!
After the nasty surprise with Wikipedia I noticed this when I searched Google for Villaservers
Does anyone know what it means to have a Google listing like this?
Some sites do and some sites don't.
Is this my reward for being a good googler?
... or for contributing a fortune to Google AdWords?

bit strange that, doesn´t really give any help either, says one thing then takes it back again almost. Have you contacted the "maintainer" it mentions?

I have thoughts about this. My username with Wikipedia is "Villaserver" and that could be my mistake!
In the Wikipedia article "Moraira" I posted external links to Villa Holidays in Moraira | Holiday Villas to Rent in Moraira
They are either saying that the links are spamming the username "Villaservers" or this is self-promotion, so I am guilty either way and I won't absolve myself by simply saying 10 "Hail Marys".
Fortunately nobody can really understand what they are talking about anyway and I doubt if Wikipedia employ hit-men.

Hi Homefinder,
i think you are right, Wikipedia say:
Commercial usernames may be reported at WP:UAA.

the full paragraph is
Notice Before posting, determine whether this is the most appropriate place.

* Articles written about a person, group, club or band by such a person, group, club or band with no verification of notability can be tagged with {{db-bio}} instead.
* Obvious cases of corporate vanity can be tagged with {{db-spam}}.
* Commercial usernames may be reported at WP:UAA.
* Issues involving the biographies of living persons policy may be more suited to the Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard.
* Issues with administrators may be more suited to requests for comment on administrator conduct.

can you not just edit the information and change your username?
this may solve all the problems.

Good luck

Emma

Thanks for that Emma.
I did not have the time or patience to research my rejection properly but I guess that was it.
I post at sites like Wikipedia and Wikihow quite a lot but never thought about the implications of self promotion becuase the issue never arose until now.
Even thoght these sites tag links as "no follow" they are quite useful as I get a lot of referrals.
I should really have registered myself as plain old "MorairaMike" but what can I do now? I cannnot very well delete "VillaServers" and the offending post, register with another username and then put it all back again.

Hi Homefinder,

Most sites allow you to edit your own details, give it a go and if that fails then i always find that honesty is the best policy.
write to them, tell them you are sorry if you have upset their rules and it was never your intention and hopefully they will let you change your profile information.
Although i am wondering if you change your user name to Moraira will you be picked up as a spammer again?

they have a very strict policy, i can understand it but really they should also communicate before labelling people incorrectly and possibly damaging.
this must be very upsetting and annoying for you.

Good luck

Emma

Your listing reflects the site links automatically generated by the Google algorithms. Most established sites will get this if you search for your own name.. see Spanish Real Estate forum!

When you are listed under a keyword search in the same way you are deemed to be an authority site for that keyword.. I found by chance that we are listed for mls Spain in this way though i have never even added a link with this anchor text...

I think its related to the click through paths taken on your site...you can see if you have sitelinks through your Google analytics account under Dashboard>Links>sitelinks.
