Firstly this forum looks like an interesting mix of seasoned Estate Agents and Web professionals. I hope it works out, because I really like the idea and I am fascinated by the whole subject of SEO. Stop yawning! It is interesting, honestly!!!

I am gong to post a few articles I have written about my own views on SEO and marketing for Estate Agents here in Spain. I hope they are of interest sorry if they are not in the right place.

I for one will be all ears! I have spent a small fortune working with an SEO company who seemed to use my website mostly to promote his other clients and, guess what? Now he's become an estate agent as well and is in direct competition. I may contact you in due course to seek your advice...

I would be pleased to answer any questions about SEO in our industry. I often work with clients to help them make the changes to their sites which will gain rank. Often they are very simple things, such as ensuring that they have a valid postal address on the home page, or that they have not in some way caused a problem by using key words in the meta tag which do not appear in the body text.

There are also big changes taking place at the moment with the new Google Universal Search and Vertical Search algorithms being rolled out. The old SEO model of stuffing a page full of keywords and having hundreds of reciprocal links just does not work any more. Universal search means that other media such as videos and blogs are included in the search results. Vertical search means that the key words are only selected using natural language. You should not repeat them over and over again as this will be seen for what it is, poor quality copy. Let me know if I can help,

You mention that we should have a valid postal address on our homepage, why is that and what good will it do our website?
