I stumbled across this one http://www.google.com/trends/hottrends Google hot trends in the States, which is calculated daily. Don't know if there is a UK based one but that is a pretty cool tool, I had to laugh at what was 33. "How to crack a safe" - so that's what people want to know in the US !!!

tells you a lot about the american state of mind! would be great to see a UK version.

Interesting trend, more of news-driven. It's updated once a hour. Hope each country has its own version of this.

Not sure if every country has got its own version, think it is just runs from the US, there is google.co.uk/trends and google.es/trends but if you look in the middle of the page it only comes up with "Today's Hot Trends (USA)" which is a pity.
