Default 10 years of Google

So Google has been around for 10 years this weekend, its now got to the stage that she/he is so big that everywhere we turn Google has now become part of our lives!

I saw that "to Google" something is actually a verb now!

The rise of Google from working out of a garage (sounds like some estate agents I used to know!) to what it has become now is unbelievable, but with what they have brought us in the space of 10 years - what is the next decade of Google going to bring us?

Just in the past week Google has brought out its very own web browser for windows (haven't been able to play with it yet as its not on Mac, any opinions on it from you guys?) and they are also releasing Android - an open-source operating system for mobile phones which is set to be released in the UK soon!

So what about search? Have they done all they can on their own prime product the search engine? Has Google hit a wall online?

They have completely moved all the goal posts when it comes to search and internet services, they have brought out some of the biggest internet revelations such as blogspot, youtube - they have made billions from internet advertising through adwords, internet tools such as google maps, google earth, gmail have made the internet giant the biggest and most viewed website in the world.

So what next for the big G?

Has Google become too big?

I for one would love to see some of the other search engines at least try to make a stand or challenge Google because for a webmaster now, it is rather boring working towards their algorithms all the time and when they decide to changes things, we all have to change with them.

Unfortunately, the generation now has become "Googlised" (wonder if that is a new term!) and will always use this search engine, Yahoo! or MSN really need to do something out of the ordinary to attract new users or take users away from their competitors.

They must now have more information about the world and people around the global than any government or assoication, it is just scary to think how much they actually know about us, and will know within the next day that I have written this thread!

Next step for Google, world domination!

"Within the next day"? Within an hour or so actually. You posted it at 11:32. I checked as soon as I read the thread (14:48).
You have been Googled already!

The browser is Google CHROME. It is designated as "BETA" and, in my view, it is already streets ahead of MSIE 6.

Richie - I can tell you something else as well! Google are working on an operating system! But you don't have to chuck out your MAC because it will be fully compatible with all known operating systems.

I hear that Google are giving away these mats. Each has a digital compass built in with an arrow. Wherever you are in the world it points to Mountain View.
The idea is, that at a certain hour every day which depends on the actual Google Zone, all the "faithfull" kneel down and . . .

Goooooooogleluia!
