Spectacular 17th century Galician country manor in good condition but needing restoration in some areas. This building is located in a valley in Irixoa, a rural area near to the city of La Coruña, the great beaches of Miño are 15 minutes drive away as is the protected forest of Fragas do Eume, ideal for hiking.
A small rural track surrounded by trees leads to the house. The main part of the building is habitable, 2 floors with a total of 400 m2, also an attic with another 200 m2 which could be used as another floor. The first floor has 5 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study and a dining room/stairs landing. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen, front hall, a bathroom and a large living room with double doors leading to a part of the garden with a bread oven and a granite stone table sheltered by vines, ideal for summer entertaining. Parts of the building have wooden beams and ceiling, front door is old but in a good state, probably dating back to the 19th century. There is also a large barn measuring 100 m2 which needs restoration, a floor could be added and made into more rooms, or just turn it into a garage. Just next to the barn there is a small door leading to a 25 metre deep water mine, a very original way of providing water to the house.
The land around the house contains many trees planted by generations of the same family, there is also a small building which has a water stream running through it, this was used for washing clothes.
Overall this is an impressive building, built with the finest stone as used in churches and cathedrals. It needs restoration and would make a beautiful hotel.
