The SREF Affiliates Directory

Hi SREF Members
This is an idea of mine and I have posted here to get your opinions.
The SREF Affiliates Directory is designed to provide a selection of perfect reciprocal links to each subscriber. It won't do anything for your PageRank but it provides marvellous content and, if used property, will certainly improve SERP position.
The way it works is that each suscriber provides a link with carefully optimised anchor text, details about their business, contact info and, optionally, a logo.
These links are then written to a static.html page and each subscriber uploads the page to his/her site.
The whole page can be uploaded or the subscriber can copy and paste the html for the links into a user-defined page to match the site.
There will be a StatCounter account open for all subscribers to see the visitors they receive from SE's to the page and from other subscribers to their site. They will also see where visitors went when they left the page.

I have uploaded a demo page which contains a lot of temporary links from advertisers from my own Costa Blanca Directory plus a few forum members who have already subscribed.

To be honest I think this is a bit risky. It's a bit like the DigitalPoint coop network which although worked really well for sites in the early days, as soon as Google managed to cotton on many sites lost all their ranking.

eyes on spain i value your comments but my webmaster is a google uk support worker and ex gmtv itv website developer i have no seo or google knowledge but my webmaster says homefinders ideas and the ones i posted are easy and google loves it now not in the early days its good know

so any way thanks but i disagree

It all depends on what you actually want.
One thing is to be able to say "I've got a PR4 so I must be important" The other thing is to say "I am No.1 and PR2. I have got people clicking and bringing in loads of business"
Most of my competitors have a better PR than me but generally I score higher in the SERPS. What is it best to me - important or impotent!

Also I think that you are confusing this with the real reason that lots of sites lost PR and that was the new alogirthm.
Google spells it out about linking more than any other aspect of SEO and the operative phrase is "just be natural".
What could be more perfectly natural that a group of guy with shared interests swapping links on a directory?

Anyhow let's see what happens. I don't think I am going to have to convince anyone and those lucky few who go for it will be glad that they did.
I uploaded late Friday and created my first link on Saturday AM. See what happened today -

Remember, this is not only creating exposure for the members on the Directory but for the SREF as well.

There are still two more uploads to get indexed and that will mean the top 5 positions.
I know what you SEO guys will say that the keyword was "SREF Affiliates Directory".
Well this is only the demo. The next bit won't be so easy but wait until we have multiple 1st page listings for stuff like "spanish property"

Quite seriously I think we should restrict the opening offer to just (say) 25 members at a cheap price. If it does work as well as I am expecting others will pay a fortune.

FreeStats - There have been 7 visitors apart from me since I uploaded. Was that you guys? Could you please label yourselves at FreeStats so that I can see the real visitors.

A static.html page on my site, with the links you have provided?

PS although we will be adding a directory to our site later this year, but that will be for baleares only...would this conflict with your static page?

The uploaded page is only a sample that I got together quickly. All subscribers will get the chance to fill their respective space.
