| The Algas Complex - Moraira
Thanks for that Linka, you have certainly found your way around quickly.
The upmarket complex is call "Algas". Coming out of Moraira on the Calpe road, on the left, just before the roundabout.
I liked the beach bar in front but is it still there?

Hope it doesn't sound like i'm always at the pub! I'm not honest....
Yes the little bar in front is still there, Its nice for a drink , I'm not keen on the low tables for eating . Its not plesent having to stoop over and eat off of a coffee table. Their Pork, tomato and Cheese toasted sandwiches are rather nice though. |

| Algas beach bar
Lovely location for a drink! Bit of a different cup of tea for a meal.
We had a bad experience with the place unable to cope with the demand at busy periods - food cold when served and not particularly bothered to sort it out. To cap it all they claimed that their credit card link was "down" and I had to pay cash. I didn't have enough cash so they suggested I went to the nearest ATM to get some. When I objected and stood my ground they managed to find the credit card machine from somewhere. But still, not impressed!

That does sound a bit rubbish John. What these places don't seem to understand is that you will probably never go there again. It only takes once for most of us to be put off. I had a lunch there a while back and it was nothing Special . I was talking about the place over the car park with the white and pale blue sofa's. We used to pop into the Algas bar for a coffee sometimes but don't tend to bother now as the cups are so small its hardly worth it!!

| Soul Singer at Cafe de Moar
We went last Friday night to see a Soul Singer at the Cafe de Moar, opposite the ALgas beach bar. He was terrific! How lovely to hear a SOUL singer for a change.
He sung all Lionel ritchie, luther Van Dross, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Stylistics etc note perfect. It was such a shame that there were so few people there(less than 20 probably) but those there, really loved it and forced an encore. I hope more people attend as otherwise the bar will inevitably stop it. The guy is called "Souljah" (obviously not his real name!) and he's really worth a visit. Starts about 10pm, every Friday I believe.

Hi Jillgary
Thanks for that, I like soul myself. I have family here right now but perhaps they would all like to go. Is it definite for Friday? Will you be going there before that?
Whilst writing: Welcome to the forum. How about introducing yourself so that we all know you?

Yes, he said at end of his show that he will be there every Friday. I took his business card and he has an e mail address soulja1044@hotmail.co.uk so if planning to go with a big group, might be best to check. His real name is DESTRY SPIGNER and there is quite alot about him on the internet. He's really very talented and we are lucky to have him here (for free!)
Enjoy! Jill

I was there last Friday.
Souljar really is good, I enjoyed it immensly. There were 40 - 50 people there, so word seems to be getting around. However, he starts singing at 23:00, this week he was late and started at 23:30.
I am wondering if Linka and Jillgary were there. We don't know each other by sight. I was there with PoolManJohn and we stood at the bar. He is tall with white hair and I am the good-looking bloke who was standing beside him.
If you go next week perhaps we could say hello. How do we recognise each other. Wear something distinctive?
Don't get excited ColinS, you cant come wearing your kilt - you would probably get yourself arrested!
