There are no longer many sailing tuition and hire facilities on the Costa Blanca beaches due to the new beach safety regulations.
Most sandy beaches now have a line of buoys 300 metres from the shoreline and no sailing is permitted inside this area.
Nevertheless, there are facilities away from the sandy beaches such as –
Javea Golden Beach – which is not really a beach at all, just approx. 3 Klms of rocks between the “La Cala” sandy beach and the port.
I cannot tell you much about this one as I just saw it driving by and witnessed the usual sight of boards tied to buoys, with the would-be sailors pulling on a rope up-haul, falling off, getting clouted by the mast and drinking great quantities of seawater – like having fun!
Antipodas at Les Besetes – which is really for more experienced sailors but windsurfers can practice in relative safety in a calm lagoon.
Antipodas have sailboards, “Hobi Cats” and kayaks for hire plus wetsuits, harnesses, lifejackets etc.and a very pleasant wet-bar and cafeteria.
You will find the Cub Nautico Les Besetes on the Moraira-Calpe road around 3 Klms before Calpe.

If you are really into sailing and are looking for a fabulous villa, perched right on the cliff edge, a short walk from Les Besetes then I could recommend
Villa Mallorquina with Private Pool in Calpe The Beach at Vergel has regular thermals (BF 4 – 6) every summer afternoon, induced by the Monte Pego Mountain but it is not the place for beginners or the faint-hearted – except to watch!
A trip to Vergel could prove to be an interesting day out even for non-sailors. The latest craze is kite-surfing. The “hot-doggers” go out on a tiny board (similar to a trick-ski) propelled by a huge kite. They often leave the water for 100’s of metres. A breathtaking spectacle, especially when there is a mid-air crash. There are no air traffic control facilities at Vergel.
Please Note: Vergel beach can be quite dangerous for swimmers as there are often quite large waves and strong cross-currents.

All this stuff is a bit mundane for old Homefinder.
I much prefer shark baiting or crocodile wrestling - cool!
