Restaurant Review | Le Cabaret Showtime at le Cabaret, Villotel, Moraira
I decided that it was time that I wrote about what goes on entertainment-wise in my “neck of the woods”.
This quest took me to the boarders of Benitachell and Moraira or, to be precise, the Villotel Development - the venue in question being Le Cabaret.
Le Cabaret is in the same location as what used to be called Corregidor Restaurant, above the supermarket with the same name.
Le Cabaret is now run by Mike and Valerie Sheehy. Mike, the vocal side of the family is assisted by his wife Val and Val’s sister Diane.
On the night of my visit the guest artist was Ricky Vallance who you will remember for the 60’s hit “Tell Laura I love her”. Amazingly Rickey’s voice is as good as ever and his delivery absolutely professional. He sang for almost 2 hours and provided a medley of popular rock and ballads from the 60’s and 70’s.
Normally Mike himself sings a few numbers before introducing the guest and the stage is set against a large well-lit backdrop.
There is seating for about 80 to 100 diners, prices for entry and dining are linked and vary according to the guest artist.
On the night we went, the charge was 15 Euros, which included entry, starter and main course. Desert, wine and all other drinks were extra but very reasonably priced.
The service was good and no one was kept waiting.
On guest star nights the menu is limited to three starters and three main courses.
At other times, mostly weekdays, there is an extensive al la Carte Menu, even a 500gm steak if you are really hungry!
There is always something going on at La Cabaret. A program of events is available and you can call Mike or Val on +34 586 933 195 for information or to reserve a table.
Guests appearing during July and August include Paul Melba, Charlotte Henry, Ricky Vallance and the Blues Brothers.
