As a professional rental agent I have always tried to suit my clients requirements and wondered if I was getting it right.
When it comes to location, size and type there is a great variety and the choice depends on holiday requirements more than anything else but there are some common elements in every property and it is these that I am curios about.
Many of the elements or not even mentioned in most descriptions and most holidaymakers are probably not even aware of their existence.
Some have been designated as obligatory by the Tourist Authority but others not but I am not going to reveal this just yet.

Please think carefully and lets decide on what are the most important elements for holiday villa or apartment.

Quite a difficult choice for first place. Security aspects are obviously very important but also is the enjoyment and safety of the swimming pool in a villa holiday.
After those two the third choice has to be the washing machine.

As a responsible villa holiday specialist I obviously have to vote the security aspects into first palce. As a woman on holiday the washing machine and dishwasher come second and third.

The fundamental requirement of a house is safety - absolutely basic and everything else is secondary to this. I guess a nice pool, well maintained, is the next element in enjoyment. After this it is individual choice. Personally, I am not interested in TV or DVD, but I suppose it is quite useful to be able to do your washing. A dishwasher is not exactly crucial. So, safety, well maintained pool and washing machine are my votes.

I think that there has been a misunderstanding here but perhaps that was my fault.
The option "Safe" was supposed to indicate that there was a safe in the property, i.e. a caja fuerte.
Did you read this to mean a high degree of safety?

The reason for my posting this is that the new law regarding tourist renting, currently, going through the Valencian Parliment, makes all of these elements obligatory, including the coffee machine and food mixer but excluding the security and the professional swimming pool maintenance.

What they are saying, in effect, is that it is far more important that clients have a food mixer than fire protection and a healthy swimming pool.
How short-sighted can you get!
However, I have filed an official appeal (alegacion) against this error.

Although I know that the poll was setup by Homefinder I would have guessed that a man thought it all up because he has left all the ladies, like Sanchia, with a difficult choice.
Obviously security is the most important and not even a man could go on holiday without a washing machine unlkess he bought enough clothes and took them all back dirty - I bet there are even some men like that!

That leaves us us ladies with the choice of healthy pool water or a dishwasher.
I went for the healthy pool but made a mental note never to go on holiday without a properly house-trained man to do the washing up.
