Thumbs up pearlys introduction

Hello everyone. My real name is Pauline. Moved to Spain two years ago . very pleased to now have a forum for this part of Spain. Do tell me if it is only for estate agents as at the moment everyone seems to be one.
My main hobby is decorative art. Not done much lately as we have been doing the garden from scratch and are now creating an apartment in the underbuild, which we hope to rent out. So only painting I have done is on the walls.
Anyway good luck with the forum and hope to see more members soon

Default Welcome Pearly

Hi - nice to have you on the Forum!
No, we are not all estate agents here but the SREF is right next door and they are inclined to keep popping in.
The SREF actually host this Forum so we have to put up with them
My name might be "Homefinder" but I am no longer an estate agent, lucky me!

As you noticed, there are not a lot of members right now but that is because we only started on Sunday. You are actually the third member who came along without an "arm twist" from me - so thats not bad for 24 hours!
It is not actually crowded in here right now but I am expecting to see a lot of new members within the next few weeks.

When you say that your hobby is "decorative art" what does that actually mean - murals and stuff like that?
We do have an arts section, perhaps you would like to tell us about your art.
If you need any technical advice for your new apartment then we have a DIY section.

Enjoy the forum and thank you for joining. Please tell all your friends.

Default new forum

Hi Homefinder.
I used to have an apartment in Santa Pola. I was a member of a Torrevieja forum for a while. It was huge and very popular although it got Quite clicky and a few members got a bit angry with eachother at times. Apart from that it was excellent. So I hope this will take off as well as that one. Will tell as many as poss.
My decorative art is painting on such things as old furniture, terracota plant pots. Sometimes walls. My husband is an excellent DIY bloke and does a lot of the background work for me before painting.
Since moving here our time has been taken up by DIY projects and gardening. SO no painting yet . I have not found the acrylic paints and the brushes I need yet.
Regards
Pauline

Hi Pearly
You signed up as "Pearly" and introduced yourself as Pauline, that's fine, but then you signed the last post as Pauline. I think that you should stick to Pearly, otherwise you might confuse people.
You, I and PoolManJohn are the only active members right now but I know that lots more have signed up, they probably feel a bit inhibited.
Come on you guys, lets hear from you!
The forum only actually started on Sunday - exciting, ennit?
I am absolutely not worried about there only being three of us right now as I am sure that this forum will be a success.
However I am a bit nervous, especially when you talk about the Torrevieja forum becoming clicky and members getting angy with each other. I am not sure that I know how to handle that but I'll do my best.
From what I am told, I will have time at the beginning to talk to, and get to know, everyone but eventually it won't be so easy.

Default forum problems

Hi Homefinder
Wouldn't worry too much about what can happen. When things got too heated the moderator just stopped the thread and gave everyone a warning. I once got a very disghusting private message which I sent to the moderator. He banned the person from the forum. It is usually only a handful of people. There were hundreds of members and it was good. I think you are doing a brill job so far. Yes in a while we may not hear from you, unless it is to comment on topics. The new Thai restaurant Is somewhere past Andrago,on the left hand side next to the supermarket, Masymas. Last time we passed it was getting ready for opening. Not seen it advertised yet. Bit our neighbours said it was open when they passed last week.
Happy eating
Pearly

Hi Pauline.
Ij ust saw your hello post and thought I'd say Hi! I have just joined the forum and think it could be very interesting. I also enjoy decarative art, (though I didn't know it was called that!) I have recently painted our dining room table with lizards and butterflies, and a coffee table with autumn leaves. Its a lovely hobby, so calming! Last year I painted all our plant pots with pictures but alas most of them have peeled off, I also paint large stones from the beach and put them in the garden flower beds.
Anyway, say Hi, maybe we could get some topics about art going? I live in Moriara.
