Question Engine size

Now Gentlemen, I have broken away from the laundry for a moment to try and get a quote for cheaper car insurance than I now have. The problem I'm having is the application wants me to put in engine size. I tried putting 'quite large' but it rejected that.So I took my sawing box out and using my tape measure I came up with 1 foot 4 by 1 foot 1, depth about half a foot.(Its hard to get between the parts.) But alas the silly computer said No!
So if any off you counld help me out I'd be very grateful. If it helps in any way, the car is a blue estate.

Thanks x

Default Car Insurance in Costa Blanca

There we go Linka, that's what happens when you start getting involved in man's stuff. Don't worry there are lots of caballeros around to haelp a lady in distress.
PoolManJohn has just been all through that and I was amazed how cheap he got his car insured so he will point you in the right direction.
Unfortunately, everyone is going to want to know the engine size and that means the cc (cubic capacity), the power it generates (CV) and the type of fuel.
Don't worry about all of this. Just tell us the make, model, year and registration details (i.e. Spanish, English, Zimbabwean etc.) and we will work it all out for you.
I'll tak to John later and tell you where he went locally plus, when we have the engine details worked out, you can get some quotes online as well.

Oh Thank you, so very kind! Well its a Rio kia estate, made in 2003 Its Spanish I think, The thing is, I have no idea how to find out where its from! I think from looking on Line its 1.3 if that makes sense?
I have had my bill through from Linea Direct who wanted 478.45 fully comp. I said I though that was a bit steep, I have no claims and have bee driving since 1993, so they have now dropped it down to 398.00. So if Pool man John thinks I can get better else where, please let me know.
Thank you muchly !

Default CBN Report - Which Costa blanca Car Insurance

Linka - can we make this a serious exercise? I think a lot of people would be interested in this topic and like to know how you get on.
Judging from the age of the car and the premium, I would say that this is 3rd-party only risks. This is absolutely fine but just make sure that you bash into another car. Whatever you do, don't hit a lamp post in a deserted street, damage your own house, run over your partner etc. This is anti-social behaviour and complicates things for the loss accessors!

Apologises from PoolManJohn. He says that he does not mind reading forums but cannot pluck up the courage to actually write. It would seem that the majority of Internet users are like that and it needs the likes of you and I to keep the world turning.

One very valid point: For the engine size and power, just look at the "Ficha Technica" which should be in a plastic wallet in the car, with your old insurance (in case the Guardia pull you up).
Amazing what comes up when you start a discussion in a bar!

John says that he looked in the following places for his quote -

Peter Verbeck - Benitachell High Street opposite Police Station.
Dragon Insurance - Also Benitachell.
Linea Directa - You tried that one.

I always try -

Rene Clarke Insurance - Tabaira Shopping Centre, next to the laundry.

Let the Forum know how you get on and which one offers the best deal.

Thanks for that Homefinder. Before I call anyone, can you tell me what is the difference between 3rd party and fully comp. I have no idea how it all works .It sounds like the 3rd party option may be quite a bit cheaper.
Thanks

I am sorry but I used very general English expressions but it is not a simple as that.
What you actually get with your insurance is complicated, you should study the packages carefully, which include but are not restricted to -

1. Damage to 3rd party property and injury to 3rd parties.
2. Damage to your car and injury to the driver or passengers.
3. Legal costs resulting from an accident.
4. Get you home and vehicule recovery after a breakdown or accident.
5. Damage to windscreen and glass.

Premiums are adjusted according to any excess that you take and no-claims bonus. In the case of

PoolManJohn is very shy about posting anything, I don't know why because it takes just as long to send me an e-mail. All the same, thank you PoolManJohn on behalf of Linka.

Quote:
This is all the information that I have.
Peter Verbeek: Best price was with Liberty Seguros (which was the one I took).
MAPFRE: Spoke to Elizabet 618121892.
AXA: This one came from the Seat Garage in Benissa,so they obviously deal with them. Best price and they also had a lower excess.
DRAGON: Normaly quite good, but not on this occasion. 966493762. Benitachell
Note;- A lot may depend on what excess you are prepared to accept. Mine is 300 euros
I do not any more telephone numbers or information.
To which I would add Rene Clarke Seguros in Tabaira 965 744 644

I will e-mail them all in case one of them would like to explain in detail.
