| New Thai Restaurant
Has anyone been to the new Thai Restaurant on the Moraira Calpe road?
Would like the telephone number and opening times if poss. Wasn't open last time we passed but have heared it is now up and running. I love Thai food. Also does anyone know where I can get fresh, hot red chillies from?
There are so many types of Restaurant in this area. The Spanish especially should be tried. Fantastic fish. In the Jalon valley we are blessed with cheap Bodegas with wine tasting. The supermarkets also stock wines that are so cheap, but not always nasty. Try as many as posible, you will definately find lots of good ones |

Pearly, I live in Moraira and don't know of a Thai restaurant on the Calpe road. It must be a long way towards Calpe. Where exactly?
There is a good Thai restaurant in Benitachell - worth a try. Coming up to Benitachell from Moraira you turn right at the traffic lights and it is just at the start of the Cumbre del Sol road.
So you have discovered the "good life" already! I eat out 4 - 5 times a week and prefer Spanish food. Right now the very best of the GVFM is Rte Brisa in Teulada. 12 - 13 Euros for the "Full Monty". I am ging to do a review on it as soon as I get time.

New restaurant is past Andrago Meeting Point. Left hand side next to Masymas.
Should be up and running now acording to our neighbours. Sorry Homefinder for putting this reply with the other thread, but I read them both together on my E.mail first.
Must try Brisa . Thanks
Pearly

Hi there,
there is a Thai restaurant that is open on the Moraira - Calpe road next to the Mas y Mas. It is owned by Huan Qi Min who also owns the Extra Wok. Unfortunately I have not tried it yet but would love to hear from someone who has eaten there

Smile - Why don't you review the restaurant. That's what this Forum is all about.
Otherwise put me in touch with this Huan Qi Min guy and I will review it.
It won't cost him anything but best to get permission first.

Donīt know too much about Thai food but we have a new shop just opened next door to us specialising in Indian food, they sell all the herbs and spices you could ever need. They also have chinese and british goods too including ready to eat meals and cooking ingredients. The indian meals (frozen, shove in the oven/microwave) are lovely! its very dangerous having the shop so close to me! (I will start another thread telling more if anyone interested?)

| ToniW - this is really amazing! Where does the threat come from? Who is in danger?
You or the shop?
Actually, I know what you mean. Most Oriental food is just right for pre-cooking and warming up, whereas English food is not.
For example, how can anyonbe get excited about warmed up roast-beef, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. As for microwaved haggis - Ugh!

Hi, I expect the original poster has tried out the restaurant by now, but for anyone else who's interested, here's the address:
Thai Wan Moraira-Calpe,199, Moraira 03725, Spain
Tel: 965748098
I haven't been there myself yet, but I too love Thai food. The Monsoon Cafe in Javea is pretty good, as is Jasmine in Moraira.
As for Thai ingredients, we've found it impossible to get hold of Thai holy basil, but you can buy the seeds in the UK and I've grown it quite successfully over here.
I am new to this forum but always open to discussions about food and restaurants - my favourite topic!

Lindswag - If you live in Banitachell, I am suprised that you don't mention the Thai restaurant at the beginning of the Cumbre del Sol Road. I can't remember the name of it even though I have been there myself a few times.

Thanks homefinder, I had given it a miss until now because it sells Thai, Chinese AND Japanese which I found rather offputting .... however, if you say it's good I'll give it a go!
