Well done Colin S - thank you for that!
The Costa Blanca Property Buyers Guide really is full of helpful info. about buying property and could be really interesting for Costa Blanca Forum members - but I wonder what the guys at the SREF will think?
If it is well received perhaps Richie will consider promoting you from "Advancing Real Estate Agent"

Wow - not "Advancing Estate Agent" or even "Moderator" but "Super Moderator".
ColinS and Homefinder, standing shoulder to shoulder - Kiddo, you will now see how tough it really is at the top!

I am quite surprised that none of the members at the SREF have commented on your article Costa Blanca Property Buyers Guide. Perhaps they are so impressed that there is nothing to say about it.

Very interesting article, and whilst I am not in the market to buy a property in Spain, during my travels I am told that real estate is suffering in the current economic climate!
However why is it that there is still the same amount of construction taking place on the Costa Del Sol, surely their "bubble must burst" soon!
I understand it is an excellent time to purchase property in Spain (if you managed to get your deposit out of Iceland in time!) but I would be interested to learn if property sales in Spain are really down by as much as 53%, year on year, as they are in the UK?

Well, now you happen to mention it . . .

When were you last there?

I assume that you are referring to the number of sales and not property values. I would estimate the property sales in Spain overall are down 75% (or more) year on year.

Interesting comments from and "innocent bystander"

Sanchia, you are certainly not an innocent bystander as far as toursim is concerned. The authorities here are telling us that Spain is becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination.
My view is that they are distorting the facts by referring to tourist entries and not tourist overnight stays.
I believe that real tourism (and I am not counting property owners and friends who visit) have gone down, or at least stagnated in the past 10 years.
You have a worldwide focus as far as this issue is concerned. What is your opinion?

Well I was on the Del Sol three weeks ago and am going back there again in two weeks, and quite expect that yet another development will have "popped up" in that short time, evey scrap of land appears to be developed now!
Many of the Agents that I work with are also in Real Estate, and they have switched their concentration from sales to renting in the last two years, diversifaction being necessary!
Indeed i was talking about sales, but believe values have also taken a shart drop!
