The EU passes ligislation about the way that low fare airlines offer fare prices

There is an intersting article at the VillaWorld.co.uk website about some changes we will see soon when buying flights from the low-fare airlines like RyanAir and easyJet.

At last we can expect to pay the advertised fare for a flight instead of finding out the “extras” some airline have been charging can be more than the fare itself. New legislation approved by Mep’s this week means European airlines will no longer be able to advertise misleading 99p or €1 fares on their websites or in their brochures reports David Gow from the Guardian

The article goes on to explain that EasyJet stated that they welcomed the new legislation which comes intoi effect next month.

Not before time to be honest.

Easyjet are the only company that show taxes etc. at the time of booking whereas companies like Ryanair just rip you off with extras.

Yes it certainly is about time. Recently the situation has become so complicated that it takes twice as long as it should to get a quote and everyone knows that the objective is to rip the customer off, which makes them even more wary and even more complicated to work out what the flight is actually going to cost.
Anyhow, lets not knock them because air travel is actually cehaper now, in real term, than it was 10 years ago.
