In August we escaped the heat and joined a family holiday with a
Se Vende Casa promotional tour.
It was incredible, we stayed in a campsite in Mundaka, on an estuary. look on the map between Bermeo and Gernika.
This place was beautiful, superb beaches, amazing properties (all huge), fields of cows, forests (one famous painted forest of Oma, an artist went up with his students and painted some trees, you have to stand at the arrows and look at many trees from a certain angle to see the paintings - I made out quite a few but you would either need a book of the paintings or a lot of drugs to see some...)
The people in Mundaka and Gernika are the friendslist i have met, they reminded me of the Northern Irish, welcoming to foreigners and delighted you have come. They welcomed us everywhere, all wanting to speak to us and find out why the kids spoke Spanish.
When we were there it was tempting to contemplate moving but honestly, i am not sure if i could handle the bad weather.
For the moment it is a great holiday destination when it reaches the high temperatures on the coast.
Enjoy!
