The benefit of purchasing an older domain has a number of benefits that a new one doesn't.
Firstly, when you start a new site from scratch you obviously don't have a page rank. To me page rank means nothing at all except personal achievement of a good rank, but many people do link exchanges and no one wants to link to a site with no page rank. Also some directories are funny about adding 0
PR sites to their directories.
With google a site takes time to achieve good results straight away, if you like - google waits for a time to trust the website/domain - an ageing delay. I have had sites that for some reason skipped this delay in results and jumped into the results but most often than not it takes some months before you will see a site slowly craw up the result order. In this time from purchase to building and promoting it is important not to try to seek googles attention by heavily link exchange and build spammy sites but to build good quality links and content - that's my belief.
MSN and yahoo are easy to get good results in and can be done in a week !
So an older site is trusted more as it has been around for a while, however the domains are more expensive to buy - generally !
These two sites I put together in the space of one or two days, not really worked hard on. They have some good quality links and might be of use to someone.
The problem now is that there are so many spanish property websites that it is hard to find a good domain with keywords in and are easy to remember. Most or nearly all of the best spanish domains have long gone - many people buy domains and sit on them - then sell them in 2 / 3 / 4 years down the line.
Spanishproperty.tv is a great name, I have two offers on it already but they haven't met my price --- yet !
I am not including the sites with the domain unless someone really wants them, they took me a couple of days so I would think people would want something alot better than what I have done, plus they will want to personalize them.
