I really don't see the need for the first page on the site, it is merely another unnecessary click.
You could keep that but have the latest offers or something interesting for the user there.
You really have to change the font - try Verdana or Arial.
I would move the links down a bit and have the header with logo going right across the page.
you need to actually look for the links in the position they are at the moment.
the site for me is appearing with a navy background and black text. i actually did not even realise there was any text until i highlighted it.
these points are really small changes but believe me they will make a world of difference to you and your users.
to recap:
change font
put something interesting on the first page or just remove it
change font
have a white background with black text or at least something readable.
have the header going across the page and move the left links down a bit.
Go for it! the site is great, a really good idea.
