I lived in Tenerife for 14 years, it is a great place if you have enough money to leave 2 or 3 times a year as with most small islands you get bored, i know every inch of every road in Tenerife, all the BBQ areas, inland restaurants and tourist attractions, i must admit in the early days(before EU) it was fun but after EU there became too many regulations etc. I was glad to leave in 2001 as at least here in Spain you can get in the car and drive more than 92km to somewhere!!
